		Welcome to my website, where you can learn about me and my books.  I started writing books for children in 2004.  By studying at the Hudson Valley Writers Center, working with my critique groups, and revising (revising, revising...) I've worked to strengthen my writing and expand my range. Watching my stories inhabit the page is the best thing about being a writer.  Working with other talented writers is the second best - learn about some of them at the website for Write On!  Reading the work of others working in literature for young people is the third best, and often keeps me up late into the night.  Whether reading the gritty, powerful tales of Zusak and Almond, the delicious fantasies of Rowling and Carson Levine, the gut-splitting comedy of Snicket and Riordan, or the meaningful words of Sachar, Lowry, and Creech (and I could go on and on and on), I'm grateful for the existence of such marvelous role models!
